Family Consultation
Family Consultation entails working collaboratively with the participant’s family to ensure that participants lead fulfilling lives. Although the service is primarily for the participant’s family or other individuals who provide direct care to the participant, Family Consultation provides the family with consultation, support and top-tier training that will result in participants mastering goals, objectives and targets outlined in the Autism Waiver treatment plan. Some of the family-oriented training encompasses:
- Maintaining the participant safely at home
- Empowering the participant to make independent decisions
- Managing behaviors, and
- Assisting the participant in acquiring, retaining, or improving
independent living skills
How will you help families?
Full Bloom Therapeutics and our appointed Family Consultant will provide families with an array of research-based strategies and interventions that will ensure that participants lead fulfilling lives. During the consultation sessions, the Family Consultant will:
- Connect families with community-based resources that will be beneficial for the participant and their respective family
- Provide intensive one-on-one interventions that will support the implementation of treatment regimens, behavior intervention and modeling, skills training, and the use of equipment specified in the Autism Waiver treatment plan
- Offer consultation to the family that will assist the participant in acquiring, retaining, or improving skills in a wide variety of areas
- Deliver training to the family that will assist the participant in identifying and responding to dangerous situations
- Render family-oriented training that will assist the participant with dressing, eating, personal hygiene, functional communication, home safety, and first aid
- Assist the family in identifying activities of interest and arranging opportunities for the participant to participate in those activities
- Educate families on the use of public transportation, independent travel, and navigating the community
- Deliver consultation services that will assist the participant with managing personal finances and meeting financial obligations
